Carter Subaru Ballard partnered with Operation Warm®, a national nonprofit focused on connecting children with the resources they need to thrive. On 2026-01-20, Carter Subaru Ballard donated 300 Coats/Shoes/Socks Combo to Solid Ground. These essential items not only help keep children protected, warm, and dry, it has a significant impact on a child's mental and emotional well-being. Families from Sand Point and Broadview gathered at the Lower Santos building for an evening of warmth and community selecting new coats and sneakers, enjoying a shared meal, and connecting with neighbors. Ali Carter shared that this is their favorite event of the year, we're grateful to welcome their team back once again. Thank you, Carter Subaru, for the 300 coats and shoes distributed to Solid Ground residents!
Music that makes a difference: Bringing the joy of music to audiences across the Pacific Northwest - Rick J
Seattle Men's Chorus (SMC) was founded in 1979 as a safe community where gay men could meet, socialize, and sing together. This place of connection and acceptance became all the more important heading into the 1980's and beyond as the HIV/AIDS crisis ravaged the community. Seattle Women's Chorus (SWC) was founded in 2002 to raise the voices of female composers and artists, and as a place for lesbians and allies to come together through music. Together, Seattle Men's Chorus & Seattle Women's Chorus make music that makes a difference. Our voices transform society through innovative and entertaining programs that build community, illuminate the experiences of LGBTQ+ people and their allies, expand inclusion, and inspire justice. We realize this mission with 469 members, making SMC/SWC one of the largest LGBTQIA+-identified choruses in the world. While we perform primarily in the greater Seattle/Tacoma Metro area for an audience of more than 15,000 annually, we have travelled across the Pacific Northwest and performed to audiences worldwide. Carter Subaru has supported the mission and work of our choruses for more than 25 years, making them one of our longest legacy partners. On top of their season sponsorship, sponsoring our annual Holiday Raffle with a brand new Subaru has become an audience favorite and tradition that allows us to raise an incredible amount of ongoing support for our choruses. This past year alone we sold almost 12,000 raffle tickets, generating nearly $120,000 in revenue, making it one of our most successful raffles since the pandemic. Maddox - from overlooked to incredibly loved - Adrienne G
Maddox spent more than a year in a shelter where he did not receive a single applicant. He was transferred to our rescue for another chance at a full life. Finally, he got to live in a loving foster home instead of a kennel! But once again, Maddox just wasn't receiving applications, and we just couldn't understand it. Our friends at Carter Subaru invited us to an event where we were able to show off Maddox to many dog lovers, and he also joined us at the Carter Subaru dealership for a video project. The staff at Carter Subaru showered him with love, and after his video work he was also promoted on their social media. After YEARS being the most inexplicably overlooked dog, Maddox was adopted just one month after he made his debut on Carter Subaru's social media! We are so thankful for the spotlight they shine on dogs like Maddox, helping increase visibility and promote adoptions every month.
Carter Subaru and the Mountains to Sound Greenway Trust Team Up to Safeguard Salmon Habitat - Katie E
For 35 years, the Mountains to Sound Greenway Trust has cared for the vast landscape stretching from Seattle to Ellensburg along I-90. This 1.5-million-acre corridor includes vital wildlife habitat and salmon-bearing streams that define the Pacific Northwest. The Greenway Trusts mission centers on restoring balance to these ecosystems, working toward a future where people and nature can co-exist in harmony for generations to come. This summer marked a major milestone: the Greenway Trust completed its largest restoration project ever at Lake Sammamish State Park. The in-stream restoration of Issaquah Creek was designed to improve conditions for juvenile Chinook and other salmon species, providing them with safer places to hide, feed, rest, and grow. By re-establishing natural river processes, the project sets the creek on a course to heal itself over time. The success of this effort builds on two decades of steady work along Issaquah Creeks banks, with vital support coming from thousands of volunteers and numerous partners, including Carter Subaru. Together, we have removed introduced species like blackberry and ivy and replaced them with native trees and shrubs, rebuilding the forested habitat that supports both aquatic and terrestrial life. Trees are central to this vision. They clean the air and water, store carbon, cool streams for threatened salmon, and provide shelter for countless species. Since 2008, Carter Subaru has donated more than $2.27 million and helped plant over 225,000 trees across the Mountains to Sound Greenway National Heritage Area. Their generosity extends beyond funding new plantings; it also sustains maintenance and follow-up efforts, ensuring that earlier projects continue to thrive. The flexibility of their contributions allows the Greenway Trust to direct resources where they are needed most, creating long-lasting ecological impact. In October, the Greenway Trust and Carter Subaru came together once again to celebrate the completion of the Issaquah Creek in-stream restoration and to kick off the annual planting season. More than 100 volunteers joined the effort, planting 1,980 native plants across 1.5 acres. Events like this do more than restore the land they bring the community together to witness and contribute to the regions recovery. Thanks to Carter Subarus steadfast commitment, the Mountains to Sound Greenway Trust continues to advance its mission of restoring and protecting salmon habitat, one tree at a time. Together, they are nurturing a greener, more resilient future for salmon, wildlife, and all who call the Pacific Northwest home.
Driving Futures Forward: Carter Subaru and Treehouse Empower Youth in Foster Care - Faye G
At Treehouse, we believe that young people in foster care are the experts of their own lives, and that belief is at the heart of everything we do. As the only nonprofit in Washington state dedicated to the educational success of students in foster care, Treehouse levels the playing field through advocacy, materials, and support young people need to thrive. For more than a decade, Treehouse and Carter Subaru have worked hand in hand to expand opportunities for youth in foster care across Washington State. Together, this partnership has helped nearly 1,300 students graduate from high school, a life-changing milestone that lays the foundation for long-term stability and success. Through Carter Subarus partnership with the Seattle Storm, youth in foster care were invited to attend Storm games and celebrated during a special on-court check presentation in September, which raised awareness and inspired community engagement. Carter Subaru and the Seattle Storm partnered together through the Force4Change initiative and donated $10,000 to Treehouse. This collaboration reflects the true spirit of the Subaru Love Promise: showing up, building connections, and investing in young peoples potential. Thanks to ongoing support from partners like Carter Subaru, Treehouse served 6,059 youth and young adults across Washington state in the 20242025 program year. That included: 2,400 youth enrolled in Treehouse educational programs 539 young adults receiving posthigh school coaching and resource navigation 8,819 funding requests fulfilled for essentials, extracurriculars, and drivers education 107,156 items distributed statewide, including clothes, books, hygiene items, and school supplies Together, Treehouse and Carter Subaru are helping youth in foster care reach their full potential, which creates a lasting impact and brightens futures across Washington.
Cultivating Connection: Celebrating the Ballard P-Patch and Art in the Garden - Chris S
Tucked away in the heart of Seattles historic Ballard neighborhood, the Ballard P-Patch is more than just a community garden-- its a vibrant, green oasis that brings people together through a shared love of gardening, sustainability, and community. Founded in the 1976, this P-Patch is one of the oldest in the city and continues to thrive as a cherished space for neighbors to grow not just food, but friendships. The garden is a colorful mix of vegetables, flowers, herbs, and native plants, lovingly tended by local residents. Each August, the Ballard P-Patch comes alive in a whole new way during its beloved Art in the Garden event-- a joyful celebration where art, nature, and community beautifully intertwine. Local artists and makers display their work festive gathering, offering everything from handmade pottery and glass art to paintings and jewelry. The event serves as a summer community celebration and fundraiser that draws up to 500 people. Funds from the event go towards garden projects that enhance community togetherness such as the newly-constructed central patio which the public is welcome to enjoy. A portion of the annual proceeds also goes towards Real Rent Duwamish, which serves as rent paid to the Duwamish Tribe for inhabiting their land. Carter Subaru has consistently supported Art in the Garden as a platinum-level contributor by making a significant donation of $2,000, accounting for 20% of the event funds raised! Here at the Ballard P-Patch, we are truly grateful for their continued partnership and support towards making our community better.
Driving Big Dreams: How Carter Subaru Helps The Mountaineers Youth Reach New Heights - Rose S
We are fortunate to live in the Pacific Northwest, a place where diverse landscapes inspire awe, challenge our limits, and spark curiosity. For The Mountaineers Youth Programs, these mountains, forests, rivers, and coastlines arent just scenery-- theyre classrooms, playgrounds, and training grounds for the next generation of outdoor leaders. Our mission is simple but powerful: get students outside and equip them with the skills, confidence, and values to build a lifelong relationship with the outdoors. But bringing those experiences to life isnt always easy. Many of the places our students dream of exploring-- big, glaciated peaks, remote alpine lakes, or backcountry ski zones-- require long drives and access to rugged trailheads. Without the right vehicle, those dreams can be difficult to reach. Thats where our partnership with Carter Subaru has transformed whats possible. When Carter Subaru provided us with a Subaru Ascent, it opened up a whole new world of access for our students. Suddenly, destinations that once felt out of reach became part of our program. Whether its driving deep into the Cascades for a multi-day climbing trip or navigating snowy backroads to reach a winter trailhead, the Ascent has become a trusted teammate in every adventure. Weve seen its capabilities firsthand. On one youth climbing trip, a large patch of snow blocked the forest road leading to the trailhead. Two other vehicles in our group couldnt make it across, and their passengers had to hike the last stretch-- adding time and energy before the real climb even began. The Subaru Ascent, with its all-wheel drive and clearance, handled the snow patch with ease, getting our students and gear to the trailhead quickly and ready to focus on their multi-pitch climb. The Ascent doesnt just help us reach our adventures-- it helps us give back to the places we love. After that climbing trip, our students partnered with the Methow Trails Association to restore and maintain the very trails that make our adventures possible. Loaded with teenagers, tools, and supplies, the Subaru Ascent carried us up a long, rough forest road to the work site without missing a beat. These stewardship days are a vital part of our program, reinforcing the idea that enjoying the outdoors goes hand-in-hand with protecting it. For me, as the Youth Programs Manager, every trip involves countless considerations-- from safety hazards to shifting weather to the unpredictable moments that come with traveling in the backcountry with a group of teenagers. Having the Subaru Ascent from Carter Subaru means theres one less thing to worry about. I know we have a reliable, capable vehicle to get us wherever the adventure calls. That peace of mind allows me to focus on what matters most: providing safe, meaningful, and transformative outdoor experiences for our students. Our partnership with Carter Subaru is a natural fit. We share a passion for learning, exploration, and land stewardship-- values that ripple out from our staff to our students and into our community. By traveling together in the Ascent, our students dont just learn outdoor skills; they experience what it means to care for the land, to work together, and to dream big about whats possible in the outdoors. Whether its pushing toward a remote peak, skiing untouched powder, or taking a brisk hike on a local trail, one thing is constant: our blue Subaru is there, making it happen. Its more than a vehicle-- its a bridge between dreams and reality, between students and the wild spaces that will shape them for a lifetime. The Mountaineers is proud to recognize Carter Subaru as a key partner in our mission. Their support and the Subaru Ascent theyve provided have become a lifeline that connects our youth to the mountains, trails, and waterways of the Pacific Northwest. On June 25th, Carter Subaru Ballard partnered with The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) and Seattle Childrens through the Subaru Loves to Care initiative. This partnership involved delivering blankets, and messages of hope to cancer patients. It was an amazing delivery day filled with kindness and connection. Through Carter Subaru Ballards participation in these programs, it shows they care. Carter Subaru Ballard consistently shows up and shows out for their community, and that impact was felt on the delivery day. Seattle Childrens were a joy to work with, and we were so happy they were the recipients of Carter Subaru Ballards donation this year. Held at the Sheraton Seattle and made possible through the generous support of Carter Subaru, this vibrant Pride Month celebration brought together 280 attendees for an afternoon of inspiration, empowerment, and connection. As the largest LGBTQ+ and allied chamber of commerce in North America, GSBA champions LGBTQ+ and small business communities through advocacy, education, and economic development. Events like the Pride Luncheon are essential to amplifying underrepresented voices, honoring resilient leadership, and driving meaningful progress. We are excited to announce that Benjamin and Orion were adopted, along with Blake and Sam, who are on trial adoptions thanks to this adoption event! You know you are part of a truly loving and supportive community when you not only feel the care of those around you but also have the privilege to offer your support in return. This is the essence of the Carter Subaru Promisean unwavering commitment from start to finish. It's also the same dedication the City of Seattle Parks and Recreation Department demonstrates toward building a community that truly cares. Big Day of Play is Seattle Parks and Recreation's annual community celebration presented by the Get Moving Initiative. The event brings together 1,000s of residents from all walks of life for a day filled with games, activities, resources, and cultural experiences. The event promotes recreation, and unity with free activities such as sports clinics in partnership with Seattle's professional sport organizations, arts and crafts, fitness, food, vendor resources, wellness fair, and a Fun Run to kick things off. Big Day of Play truly celebrates Seattle's vibrant diversity and creates a space for families, friends, neighbors, and organizations to come together and connect. From the moment PawsWithCause was invited to join in the Big Day of Play, we felt the unwavering support from both Carter Subaru and the City of Seattle's Parks Department. It was a type of support that felt like a strong wind beneath our wings, lifting us higher than we could have gone alone. Carter Subaru was a steadfast advocate in our planning and throughout the event, which was set to bring together 3,000 to 4,000 people in the Rainier neighborhood of Seattle at the community center. And what a day! The weather was as varied as the people we metwind, rain, sun, and shineall coming together in a celebration of the vibrant diversity that makes Seattle the unique and wonderful city it is. We saw such a beautiful mix of peopleyouth full of energy, parents, though tired, excited to share their cultural pride, and everyone in search of the same things: acceptance and connection. With the forward-thinking sponsorship of Carter Subaru, PawsWithCause hosted a mural painting program, and the City provided us with a spacious area on the ballfield. Here, we welcomed everyone who wished to contribute to a mural featuring eight shelter animals, all deserving and in need of a loving forever home. The community entrusted us with their stories and truths, and we, as always, sought to honor each individual's identity and needs. We encouraged his peers to respect and admire his artwork, and we saw a new sense of confidence blossom in him. A young person, grappling with their gender identity, approached us with their mother. They were seeking unity and chose to give back to the community through a donation.We were deeply moved by their courage and the bright spark within them. An elderly woman, in search of a companion, discovered that she could foster and help many animals in need. She found renewed purpose and joy in this new endeavor. A recent retiree found a new passion in her retirement through the volunteer opportunities we offer. We are always ready to extend a helping hand and ask for one in return, enriching both people and our programs. A family, new to the United States, bonded over painting a shelter pet. Their joy and unity were contagious, and their smiles brightened our day. A person who had once been homeless came forward to volunteer, eager to give back to the community that had supported them. By increasing this, through community supported painting programs, to 60% adoption, we could effectively end euthanasia within animal shelters and get every pet the home they deserve. For every test drive conducted at our dealership, we pledge to plant a tree, and with every car purchase, we further our eco-friendly mission by planting an additional three trees. This commitment to offsetting our carbon emissions underscores our dedication to reducing our environmental impact, and it is indeed a cherished endeavor to engage in this green initiative alongside our esteemed community partner, Mountains to Sound Greenway.
