The new 2013 Subaru BRZ was engineered with originality behind it, going back to the fundamental sports coupe design. The all new 2013 Subaru BRZ weighing only 2,762 lbs., makes it the lightest closed rear-wheel drive sports car in the U.S. market. The 2013 BRZ has the lowest centers of gravity of any production car, 18.1 inches to be exact, all thanks to the new Subaru FA-Series 2.0-liter Boxer® engine. A smaller engine, but its power helps the BRZ obtain the ultra-low center of gravity. This new engine fuses light weight with high power, high compression and high-revving reflex, with a 7,400-rpm redline. The engine's incredibly broad torque curves the peak at an estimated 150 foot/pounds and offers a strong midrange making the BRZ responsive to your driving style.

The 2013 BRZ will offer the choice of a six-speed manual and a six-speed automatic transmission, both are engineered to max out your driving feel and performance needs. The six-speed automatic transmission model BRZ is equipped with paddle- shifters and gives the driver Sports mode for sporty automatic shifting. The BRZ also gives the driver the capability to shift manually using handle shifters or steering wheel paddle-shifters. The six-speed manual comes with a short-throw shifter, and manual transmission pedals optimized for perfect "heel-and-toe" downshifting.
